Alpha is a series of fun dinner and group conversation evenings centred around exploring the big questions of life, spirituality, and faith in a laid-back and non-judgmental environment. 

It’s for those who want to explore or are rethinking their faith. If you are curious, skeptical, or just have honest questions, bring them to Alpha and explore them with new friends!

What does a session look like?

CONNECTION
Grab a drink and some food while getting to know other Alpha guests in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

CONTENT
Each evening features a short 25-minute talk designed to spark conversation. These talks explore some of life’s biggest questions around faith, including topics like “Is there ?” and “Who is Jesus?”

CONVERSATION
This is the heart of Alpha. In small groups, you’ll have the chance to connect with others, ask honest questions, and share your thoughts and experiences about life and faith. There’s no pressure to speak—say as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

We have the incredible opportunity to create a welcoming space where people can explore faith, ask honest questions, build community, and encounter Jesus in a real way.

But Alpha doesn’t happen without an amazing team of people willing to serve with open hearts and helping hands. Whether you’re greeting guests, serving food, helping with setup, or simply creating a warm atmosphere, every role matters and every act of service makes an impact.

We truly believe God is stirring hearts and preparing to do something powerful through Alpha this summer, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Alpha is a series of sessions exploring questions of life, faith and meaning. Each session has food, a video, and plenty of space to share your thoughts and learn from others freely. It is a relaxed and fun atmosphere open to people from different walks of life, faith backgrounds, and worldviews.

  • Alpha is designed for everyone. But specifically for those who would like to learn more about Christianity.

  • While the Alpha Course we’re running at Parkway this summer is designed for adults (18+), we’re open to having a conversation with anyone younger who is interested in joining us. Please email sarah@parkwaychurch.ca.

  • Alpha is intentionally designed as a continuous 11-week series. We recognize that summer often comes with vacations and time away, but we strongly encourage participants to attend as consistently as possible in order to get the most out of the Alpha experience. If you are unable to make a session, please connect with your facilitator in advance.

  • Alpha is completely FREE!

  • YAY! Come join the team and be part of what God is doing this summer at Alpha! There are are a few different areas to serve in. Let us know here if you'd like to get involved.
